The combination of a diverse community demographic, a highly productive food industry and a sophisticated wine reputation inspired the conceptual design for La Festa – Faces of Australia.
La Festa is Griffith's International Music, Food and Wine Festival. It is held annually on Easter Saturday in the city's picturesque Community Gardens. The festival is a real celebration of everything the city has to offer, its colourful and dynamic multicultural community and its premium wine and food industry.
La Festa has been revitalised and is now based at a proven site that is easily accessible and welcoming to all festival guests – both locals and visitors. La Festa is the perfect family day out with lively and exciting children's entertainment and performances and plenty of music, food and wine on offer for the adults.
2012 will be the 11th consecutive year that La Festa has been held in the city of Griffith and each year it is building momentum and gaining recognition.
It is becoming one of the flagship events, not only for Griffith, but for the Riverina region and attracts approximately 10,000 people annually.
La Festa showcases a variety of international talent in the ‘world music’ genre whilst also incorporating an array of community groups that entertain crowds with their traditional music and dance which is often an expression of their individual cultures. It is this aspect of the event that gives it a unique point of difference to any others in the region.
La Festa is an incorporated body which has a dedicated team of community minded business representatives and industry leaders who volunteer their time to ensure the event is coordinated and run in a professional and fresh manner each year.
The Committee has recently appointed a paid events coordinator to assist with ensuring the Professionalism and future sustainability of the Festival.
