The essence of La Festa is World genre performance multiculturalism and how better to embrace this than a stage developed specifically to showcase and express the Australian community’s diversity through song, dance, mime and other performers.
The Community Stage is a new addition to the La Festa program and will be one filled with dynamic, colourful and original performances. This stage will give visitors and locals alike a real international experience second to none. Everything from Cook Island Dance, Sipping Taekwondo Demonstration, Country Line Dance, Samoan dance, Italian choir, Traditional Australian Choir, and much more.
Griffith City Council Event Coordinator, Shannon Collins, said that this is a great outlet for the cultural groups within Griffith to share their traditions with the greater community and visitors. “La Festa is predominately about the unique and diverse international aspects of the Australian society in general, and this community in particular. With so many different nationalities and cultures represented in Griffith we are fortunate enough to be exposed to traditions, celebrations and performances from around the globe,” said Shannon.
“There is so much effort that goes into these performances, everything from the traditional costumes to the correct interpretation of the display. These acts are really amazing to watch, you really get the full cultural experience and are drawn in by it.”
La Festa is very proud to be including the Community Stage as an addition to the overall format of the event.
