La Festa Launch                             2009 La Festa Program

 World Stage - Professional Performers

La Festa is a constantly changing event and the committee endeavour to keep it “fresh” and interesting for you the public. We do this in a number of ways; we try to bring you new entertainment each year and to make the food and wine side work better each year.

This year has been particularly challenging with difficulty in obtaining sponsors and thanks to a last minute reprieve from our friends at Country First Credit Union, and the $100 Club organised by our committee member, Erin Adams has enabled La Festa to continue in 2008 and 2009.

Once again in 2008 we have new professional groups entertaining you, with Big Snore Hammers, who cover such styles as Italian, Celtic and Australian Bush Music, Azadoota play Iraqi/Middle Eastern, Latin American and for the first time we have a rip-roaring Bluegrass Fiddle and Banjo band called The Lawnmowers.

The Community Stage is loaded up with great talent, once again, music dance and culture from around the world, with seating and tables at both stages get up close enjoy the show, our great street party.

The YAK stage is no longer with us, so we have moved up a section of the top block where we will have busking and street entertainers, with a bias on our teens, and some youth entertainment, which will keep all age groups in a La Festa mood.

We ask that all people attending La Festa to spare a thought for the environment and to help make the event greener each year, you can do your bit by putting all rubbish in bins, and if you see rubbish, please pick it up and put it in the dozens of bins provided.

Lets enjoy a clean, fun family event, and tell your friends and relatives about La Festa, where we all get together, to enjoy music, food and culture from our varied backgrounds.
